Recognition: SAARC endorses SAFMA
The association plans to hold the 6th SAARC Journalists’ Summit in Islamabad before the next SAARC summit

The South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Council of Ministers has extended South Asian Free Media Association’s (SAFMA) certification as SAARC’s Recognised Body for three more years According to a press statement issued on Monday, the SAFMA, formed in July 2000 in Islamabad, was recognised by the SAARC as its mainstream media body in all member countries in 2004. The recommendations of the SAARC Information Ministers’ conference were implemented by the SAFMA. The association plans to hold the 6th SAARC Journalists’ Summit in Islamabad before the next SAARC summit in November this year.
