Customs action: 1kg of high-potency drugs seized

Customs officials claimed on Monday to have seized, in two separate routine searches, more than one kilogramme of a high-potency drug, amphetamine crystal, which is worth around Rs12 million in the in the black market.
According to a statement issued by Customs, two Saudi Arabia-bound passengers were intercepted separately and, upon searching, the drug was found in their possession. Five hundred grammes of crystal, estimated to be worth Rs5 million, was seized from Zaman Sher, while 700 grammes, estimated to be worth Rs7 million, was recovered from Ibrar Hussain, the statement read, adding that both suspects are residents of Swabi in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
