LAHORE:

Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti said on Sunday that the Punjab offered a lucrative environment for investors in energy, agriculture, livestock, tourism and infrastructure sectors.

He was addressing participants of a road show organised by OPC in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

OPC Vice Chairman Capt (r) Khalid Shaheen Butt and Additional Director General Ahmad Mubeen were also present. Hundreds of Pakistanis living in Jeddah participated in the event.

Bhatti said that the government had taken steps to promote businesses. “The Punjab Board of Investment and Trade is providing technical assistance to investors to set up new projects,” he said.

Butt briefed the participants about investment opportunities in the Punjab. “Overseas Pakistanis should invest in the Punjab. The government will safeguard their investment,” he said. Mubeen said that OPC was playing an active role to resolve problems of the overseas Pakistanis.
