Saving lives: 443 rescue workers ready for action
Academy provides free training to rescuers from K-P
PESHAWAR:
More than 400 rescue workes from the provinces of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab graduated from the Emergency Services Academy, said a press release issued on Saturday.
The passing-out ceremony welcomed the Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan as the chief guest and Dr Asad Ali Khan, the director general of the Emergency Rescue Service, as the guest of honour.
In his address, minister Sanaullah Khan called rescuers brave sons of the soil who risked their own lives to save those of others.
Asad Ali thanked the Punjab government for its continuous support in form of technical and professional assistance. He further lauded the director general of the Emergency Services Academy, Brigadier (retd) Amir Hamza, for turning “raw boys into professional rescuers”, the press release said.
Asad Ali said the training provided to rescuers makes the academy a blessing not only for Punjab, but for other provinces too. Following directions of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, the Emergency Rescue Service provides free training and technical facilities to K-P rescuers, the press release said.
The cadets demonstrated their professional skills of emergency management during mock exercises of deep well rescue, firefighting, rescue from height and medical emergency management. The cadets also completed training in fields of communication, community safety training, collapsed structure search and rescue and more.
