‘Mohenjo Daro’ to hit screens on August 12

Hrithik Roshan takes to Twitter to announce release date

Actor Hrithik Roshan much-awaited film Mohenjo Daro will hit the screens on August 12, reported The Indian Express. The 42-year-old Bang Bang star took to Twitter to announce the release date as well as the wrapping up of the shooting of the Ashutosh Gowariker directorial.

“Journeys that test strength of character are ones you should be most proud of! It’s a wrap! #MohenjoDaro @hegdepooja,” Hrithik tweeted.

The actor also shared a picture of himself holding a clapperboard flashing the release date with the Lagaan film-maker in the background. Also starring debutant Pooja Hegde and actor Kabir Bedi, the movie is an epic adventure-romance set in the ancient city of Moen Jo Daro in Sindh, Pakistan. The period film features the era of the Indus Valley civilisation that dates back to 2600 CE. The movie marks Gowariker’s second collaboration with Hrithik after the 2008 epic historical drama Jodhaa Akbar. While acclaimed music director AR Rehman is working on the film’s soundtrack, lyrics have been penned by Javed Akhtar.


Award-winning VFX supervisor Karen Goulekas will take over the VFX reigns for the film. Karen, who has won two BAFTA Awards for Best Visual Effects of The Fifth Element and The Day After Tomorrow, has worked on films such as Apollo 13, Godzilla, Spider-man, 10,000 BC and more recently The Green Lantern, Looper and Don Jon.
