Corrupt official: FIA suspends officer over extortion
A telephone feedback system at the Islamabad offices of the FIA established these charges
ISLAMABAD:
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has suspended one of its officials on corruption charges here on Friday. Inspector Rana Shahid Habib was accused by Riaz Ahmed, a resident of Lahore, of extortion. Habib had allegedly extorted Rs25,000 from Ahmed’s father and had consequently released him. A telephone feedback system at the Islamabad offices of the FIA established these charges, after which Inspector Habib was suspended and a formal inquiry was ordered against him.
