RAWALPINDI:

Anti-Narcotics Force chief Maj-Gen Nasir Dilawar Shah has said that an anti-drug drive would soon be launched in major cities to purge them of the vice.

He said this while speaking at the concluding ceremony of a two-day ANF “youth ambassadors’ convention” held at Topi Rakh Auditorium, Ayub National Park on Thursday.

Shah, who was the chief guest, said that the youth forum has already achieved significant successes by forming a country-side youth hierarchy and multi-directional forum to engage the society.

He said that its success could be gauged from the fact that since its inception in June 2014, it has over 50,00 active youth ambassadors across the country to instill positive approach among the masses to shun drugs.

While talking about ANF enforcement measures, he said that in the near future the ANF was going to launch a special “anti-drug drive” in major cities, for which the ANF’s intelligence network was in the process of thrashing out a strategy to meet its targets.

“Soon there will be a surge in anti-drug operations especially in provincial capitals and Islamabad,” he said.
