Jobs: DRAP to hire more to clear backlog
According to a pharma industry official, Pakistan had 80,000 registered medicines and products produced by 600 firms

Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) would hire as many as two hundred personnel including directors and medical experts to deal with increased work load caused by backlog of registration and hardship cases of pharmaceutical companies pending for years. According to sources in DRAP, the drug regulatory body would improve service structure of its employees and hire directors, high level officers and internees to deal with old and new registration cases of medical products. According to a pharma industry official, Pakistan had 80,000 registered medicines and products produced by 600 firms. He said new registrations of drugs would bring down prices because of free market mechanism.
