Two women and a man died on Wednesday night after eating food laced with poison. Three others were taken to a hospital in serious condition. Nishatabad police said Abdul Haq, a resident of Chak 50-JB, had prepared dinner and served it to some guests at his house. He, too, ate the food. They all took ill after eating the food. They were taken to a hospital where Haq’s wife Naziran Bibi, 40, their daughter Mehwish, 18, and Aslam Niyamat, 40, died before they could be treated. Haq and Naziran’s daughter Nazish Bibi, 20, their son Abdul Ghaffar, 14, and Niyamat’s daughter Misbah, 20, were admitted to the hospital in critical condition. Nishatabad police have taken the bodies for autopsy. “We are investigating the matter on several lines…some members of Haq’s family think that the food might have been poisoned by their rivals.”
