FIA arrests a man on human trafficking charges

SARGODHA/SIALKOT/MULTAN: Sargodha police claimed to have arrested 16 suspects during a joint search operation in various parts of the district under the National Action Plan on Tuesday-Wednesday. Police said they had seized a sizeable number of weapons from them.

SDPO Wajid Hussain in coordination with the Factory Area and City SHOs and members of the Elite Force, the Special Branch and other law enforcement agencies conducted a search operation in Canal Park Factory Area, Pathan Colony Sillanwali Road and Islamabad Colony in a city area police precinct, and arrested 16 suspects. Police said they had seized two rifles and rounds from Jahan Khan and Sahib Khan of Canal Park.

Sargodha police said they had also arrested 10 proclaimed offenders and three court absconders. The Sargodha DPO had directed teams of various police stations to conduct coordinated raids in their jurisdiction. The police arrested 10 proclaimed offenders and three court absconders.  The POs include: Imran alias Mano, a resident of Garh Qaim. Police said he was wanted for being involved in several robberies and murders; Abdul Shakoor, Nasrullah, Ghulam Abbas, Muhammad Fayyaz, Muhammad Farooq, Abid Hussain, Muhammad Naeem and Qamar Abbas.   Police have also arrested three court absconders: Muhammad Asif, Jameel and Abdul Aziz.  Sargodha police also claimed to have arrested 10 drugs peddlers and recovered narcotics and illegal weapons from them.

Sialkot Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Wednesday said they had arrested a human trafficker in Kotli Loharaan East. Chaudhry Khalid Anees, FIA Gujranwala Division deputy director, said the suspect was identified as Mohsin Haneef. He said the FIA had found 11 passports and other fake official documents of various embassies on him. The suspect was sent to jail after a case was registered against him.

Multan police registered an FIR on Wednesday against four policemen, including an ASI, for alleged trespass on the residence of a person, torturing him and keeping two citizens in illegal detention.  Bahauddin Zakariya police said ASI Noor Akbar, Constables Javed, Shahbaz and Sabir had trespassed on Ghulam Hassan’s house in Shalimar Colony. Police said separately during a raid, the accused cops took Ameerul Hassan in custody. They thrashed Ameerul Hassan and Ghulam Hassan and kept them in illegal detention.
