Jhal Magsi by-polls: PTI requests ECP to deploy army
Imran Khan-led party has demanded election authorities depute troops both outside and inside the polling stations
ISLAMABAD:
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has written a letter to the election commission, calling for the deployment of army soldiers during the April 28 by-election on NA-267 in Jhal Magsi. Expressing no confidence on the Balochistan provincial government, the Imran Khan-led party has demanded the election authorities depute troops both outside and inside the polling stations. In the letter, the PTI has requested the chief election commissioner to deploy army for the by-polls on NA-267, alleging the Punjab chief minister was trying to influence the polling results. “The PTI has strong reason to believe the Balochistan chief secretary has been getting direct orders from the Punjab chief minister,” the letter states.
