Upgrade: Multan to get new sewer lines

The commissioner directed the Wasa authorities to utilise GPR to conserve energy and resources

MULTAN:
A master plan for replacement of sewer lines in Multan has been prepared, Water and Sanitation Agency Director Waseem Bajwa said on Saturday. He said the plan had been prepared in collaboration with the Nespak and a French company. He said under the project, Rs87 million would be spent on new sewer lines in the city over three years. Addressing a meeting with Commissioner Asadullah Khan, he said new sewerage lines had been laid at Hafiz Jamal Road. He said three new manholes had been constructed at Manzoorabad intersection recently. The commissioner directed the Wasa authorities to utilise ground penetrating radar (GPR) to conserve energy and resources. Engineering Director Khalid Pervaiz said that changing of sewer pipelines from Zakariya University to Afshar intersection would be completed shortly. He said 10 metro stations were going to be completed in this area.
