Tragedy: Labourer killed on Kashmir Highway

Another labourer suffered a fracture to his leg after he fell into an uncovered manhole in Pirwadhai

RAWALPINDI/ISLAMABAD:


A labourer was killed in a hit-and-run incident on the Kashmir Highway, near Sector H-9 on Saturday.



Muhammad Iqbal lodged a complaint with the I-9 police stating that a speeding car (LXE-5556) hit his nephew, Rizwan. He was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences where doctors pronounced him dead.


Rizwan was a labourer working on upgradation along the Kashmir Highway.


In a separate incident, another labourer suffered a fracture to his leg after he fell into an uncovered manhole in Pirwadhai.


Haleem Khan is said to have been returning home after a day of labour when he fell into an uncovered manhole near the central graveyard in Pirwadhai.
