Students’ help sought for product marketing
TDAP prepares model for linking local exporters with university students to market export products internationally.
KARACHI:
The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) has prepared a model for linking local exporters with university students to market the country’s export products internationally.
Addressing a seminar entitled ‘European Union trade concessions to the textile industry of Pakistan’ at the Institute of Business Management on Saturday, TDAP Chairman Tariq Puri said, “we are considering setting up sales and marketing networks that would link exporters with qualified marketers who can help them pitch and sell their products abroad.”
He said that the model for such a network has already been developed and that students from reputable management schools of the country can help businesses bring their products to the world.
Puri asserted that the arrangement would be beneficial for small and medium enterprises that lack resources to constitute dedicated marketing teams. He lamented that “even bigger exporters are not giving due consideration to marketing and consider it to be a low priority.”
