Near qayyum stadium: Commercial plaza to fundraise for sports

PESHAWAR: Minister for Sports, Cultural, Tourism, Youth Affairs and Archaeology Mehmood Khan said the income generated from the newly unveiled Olympics Plaza adjacent to Qayyum Stadium will be spent on the development of sports in the province. He said this while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the plaza on Thursday. The minister said following the vision of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan, the provincial government had constructed well-equipped sports grounds at the tehsil level across the province.  The newly constructed commercial plaza comprises 14 flats and 14 shops completed at a cost of over Rs90 million. He further said the income generated from this new plaza would also be used to purchase modern sports equipment. Responding to a question, he said all of the sports budget would be allocated to the development of sports in province.
