Action: College sealed for defaulting on tax

RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has sealed a private college for defaulting on property tax. RCB said Rawal College in Kamalabad area defaulted on Rs600,000 in property tax. RCB team first sealed the administration block and the principal’s office and the entire college after it closed. RCB spokesperson said the college would be allowed to open after the payment of full amount. Meanwhile, the cantonment board carried out an anti-encroachment drive in Azizabad, Naseerabad and Ilahabad areas and confiscated two truckloads of goods. The team also confiscated marble tiles and equipment from a marble factory for encroaching upon the road. RCB Spokesperson Qaiser Mehmood said operation is being carried out on a daily basis to clear the footpaths and roads of encroachments.
