Human trafficking: FIA claims arresting 321 proclaimed offenders
In its ongoing crackdown against human traffickers, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has claimed to have arrested 1,115 persons, including 321 proclaimed offenders, over the last three months.
FIA revealed these facts during a meeting on Monday which was chaired by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
The officials of the FIA told the interior minister that under his directives 75 per cent work of compiling the data of the proclaimed offenders has been completed.
They said that the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has been asked to block 640 CNICs of the proclaimed offenders.
The officials added that after blocking their national identity cards the mobile SIMs and bank accounts of the accused would also be blocked with the help of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
Chaudhry Nisar ordered the FIA to cancel the passports of the proclaimed offenders immediately and put their names on the Passport Control List.
