Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Saturday that the government was implementing a comprehensive programme for promotion of horticulture in the province.
Sharif approved establishing a horticulture and landscape training institute and planting trees along a 40-kilometre railway track from Shahdara to Raiwind. He directed the officials concerned to expedite measures for implementation of a fruit gardens project. He also sought preparation of a horticulture plan for the Orange Line Metro Train project.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Saturday that the government was implementing a comprehensive programme for promotion of horticulture in the province.
He was speaking at a meeting to review progress on various projects and consider new initiatives for promotion of horticulture.
He said horticulture was not just helpful in controlling pollution but also enhanced the beauty of urban areas. He directed the officials concerned to design awareness raising programmes for ensuring proper maintenance of plantation carried out under horticulture projects.
