Sonakshi turns over new leaf
Actor has taken on action-packed roles for upcoming movies

After wowing fans in hits such as Dabangg and Rowdy Rathore, actor Sonakshi Sinha has taken a U-turn from the simple characters she usually portrays in her movies. The 28-year-old is now all set to stun the audience with fast-paced, action-packed avatars in upcoming films Akira and Force 2, reported IANS.
In Akira, Sonakshi will be essaying the role of an aggressive college student while Force 2 will see her perform challenging stunts opposite John Abraham. The Tevar actor says she is pleased with her new roles which are a far cry from everything she has done in the past. When asked if she was trying to break her ‘lover girl’ image, Sonakshi said, “I think it just so happened. I just think that the roles were really good. I felt that I could pull them off and also look convincing while doing action.”
The AR Murugadoss directorial Akira, will treat the audience to a martial arts sequences performed by Sinha as well. “I have done something that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. I am very happy about that,” said the actor. She has previously worked with the director Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty.

The release dates for Akira have yet to be announced but Vipul Amrutlal’s Force 2 — a sequel to 2011’s Force — is expected to release late in 2016.
