Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) Vice President (VP) Riaz Khattak said the K-P government must make serious efforts to bring about an industrial revolution by attracting maximum investment in the province. Khattak said this while visiting the HIE.
For the aforementioned purpose, he said, a package of incentives is being mulled that includes provision of cheap electricity to industries, privatising all industrial zones and many other policy measures to make local and foreign investment more attractive.
Khattak stated that the industrial estate is the centre of employment for thousands of families and a major source of revenue for the provincial government hence, its problems should have been resolved on priority basis.
He asked for the establishment of a high level committee for the revival of industrial units, which had become sick due to different reasons including the shortage of electricity and gas. Similarly, he demanded early construction and repair of all roads inside the industrial estate.
The FPCCI vice-president said the K-P government should provide all the required facilities and guarantees to those companies who are ready to make investments.
Industrialisation and agriculture can bring in real transformation of K-P and, accordingly, the government must set priorities in the upcoming provincial budget, he remarked.
