Public complaints: Six SEPCO officials suspended (Business)

In the amended law power thieves can be arrested without warrants, up to seven-year rigorous imprisonment

The Sukkur Electric Power Company (Sepco) has suspended six of its officers in the Luqman sub-division in the face of public complaints and continuous follow-up by the federal complaint cell of the Ministry of Water and Power.


Further disciplinary proceedings had been initiated against these employees, the company said.


Those suspended were Ghulamullah Solangi, Sub-divisional Officer (Operations), Lal Bux Noonari, LMII, Mokhumuddin Shaikh, MSII, Feroze Ali Abro, LM-I/LS, Irshad Ahmed Memon, LM-I and Zulfiqar Ali Junejo, LS-II.

A first information report (FIR) has also been lodged against 15 consumers of the Luqman sub-division under the amended anti-electrify theft law. In the amended law power thieves can be arrested without warrants, up to seven-year rigorous imprisonment.
