Corruption charges: NAB busts ex-housing society registrar

The NAB team in a raid at his house in Sector I-8/3 also seized documents regarding plots owned by him

ISLAMABAD:
The National Accountability Bureau  (NAB), Rawalpindi, has arrested a former circle registrar of Cooperative Housing Societies Islamabad on charges of corruption and misuse of authority. He was presented before an accountability court on Friday for obtaining remand. Malik Din allegedly sold plots marked for a graveyard and a school in the Federation of Employees Cooperative Housing Society, E-11/1, E-11/2 to private parties for personal gain. It is also alleged that Din has accumulated assets worth millions of rupees in posh sectors such as I-8 and in private housing schemes. The NAB team in a raid at his house in Sector I-8/3 also seized documents regarding plots owned by him and other official records along with currency, four AK-47s, and ammunition. Further investigation is under way.
