South Punjab tour: Preparations for Bilawal’s visit complete

Several meetings have been planned across south Punjab during his visit

Pakistan Peoples Party south Punjab president Makhdoom Ahmad Mehmood visited Jamaldinwali Airport’s runway on Friday where he reviewed arrangements for party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s speech at a public gathering on Saturday (today).


The venue for the PPP chairman’s rally has been shifted from Government High School to Jamaldinwali Airport’s runway due to accommodate more people.

Mehmood was accompanied by the Rahim Yar Khan DPO, PPP’s south Punjab general secretary Shaukat Basra, MNA Makhdoom Mustafa Mehmood, MPA Makhdoom Murtaza Mehmood and PPP divisional coordinator Chaudhry Javed Iqbal were also present.

Mehmood said all arrangements for the public gathering had been completed.

“Thousands of workers will give a historic welcome to the party chairman and prove that the PPP is still the biggest political party in the country,” he said.

PPP’s information secretary Khawaja Rizwan Alam told newsmen that former prime minister Pakistan Yousaf Raza Gillani and Makhdoom Syed Ahmad Mehmood would also address the gathering.

According to the schedule issued by the party’s information secretary, the party chairman will meet with Rahim Yar Khan’s newly elected chairman and vice chairman and workers of Pakistan People’s Party for breakfast on March 27.

At noon, Bilawal will participate in a ceremony organised at the residence of High Court Bar Association President Nawazish Ali Pirzada. Later, he will leave for Ashraf Sugar Mills where at 2pm, he will meet with delegations of PPP’s women wing.

At 4pm, he will meet with PPP’s south Punjab leaders and senior workers.

On March 28, Bilawal will address High Court Bar Members at Ashraf Sugar Mills and at 12pm, he will meet with People’s Lawyers Forum. At 2pm, he will address People’s Students Federation south Punjab convention and at 4pm he will address People Youth South Punjab’s convention.
