Crossroads: From traditional to innovative textile
He appreciated the role of Dice Foundation USA that took the initiative to introduce innovation in the textile sector
FAISALABAD:
Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) President Chaudhry Muhammad Nawaz termed ‘Dice Textile 2016’ as a turning point for the textile industry to transform itself from a traditional into an innovative sector. “Textile is providing maximum jobs but emerging trends have necessitated a visible upgrade to maintain the acceptability of our products in international markets,” said Nawaz. He appreciated the role of Dice Foundation USA that took the initiative to introduce innovation in the textile sector, adding that the National Textile University (NTU) also played a pivotal role. He said that FCCI visualised the importance of industry-academia linkages and inked a MoU with NTU in 2014. “We are also establishing a textile corner in the chamber to facilitate this sector in adoption of new technologies,” he added.
