‘Let It Snow’ director confirmed
Film on John Green’s book to release in December this year
Film-maker Luke Snellin has been chosen to direct Let It Snow: Three Holiday Romances – a short story collection from acclaimed young-adult authors John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle, reported The Hollywood Reporter. Let It Snow will be the first feature film for the English director, whose 2009 short film Mixtape was nominated for a BAFTA.
The stories follow three unexpected romances that take place over the course of one Christmas Eve. Fault in Our Stars screenwriters Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber will be rewriting the script, originally penned by Pitch Perfect writer Kay Cannon. Neustadter and Weber also adapted Green’s Paper Towns and Tim Tharp’s The Spectacular Now. The upcoming Universal Studio’s project will be produced by Scott Stuber and Dylan Clark, under the banner of Bluegrass Films. Kristin Lowe and Chloe Yellin will oversee the project, whereas Alexa Faigen will reportedly oversee for Bluegrass. Universal acquired the rights to the anthology following the success of 2014’s The Fault in Our Stars, which starred Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort and grossed $307 million worldwide.
Snellin has previously directed music videos for Tim Wheeler, Cloud Control, Emmy the Great and Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, among others. The cast is yet to be announced but the film is slated to release on December 9, 2016.
