ISLAMABAD:

Bahria University (BU) on Tuesday organised a career expo bringing together job seekers and employers.

Counselling sessions to guide students about various career paths and innovative job hunt tactics were also part of the expo.

“The job fair served as a cost-effective way for the organisations to directly interact with prospective candidates and recruit the required talent without going through the traditional hiring practices,” said a press release issued by the university.

BU Rector Vice-Admiral (Retd) Tanveer Faiz HI (M) inaugurated the event.

The industry players as well as human resources experts from top organisations gave an overview of the various industries’ update on HR demands, entry requirement and career prospects.

The event was arranged with an objective of not only connecting top talent with employers but also to provide a opportunity for students and alumni to learn about job openings, research companies and practice their interviewing and networking skills.

Around 70 leading companies of telecom, fast-moving consumer goods, services, manufacturing, NGOs and banking sectors participated in the fair.

The prospective employers also conducted on spot interviews.

Over 2,000 current students and 350 alumni appeared for interviews and explored career opportunities.
