4 hair trends every lazy lady needs to know

Rock these effortless hair-dos, and remember, there’s no shame in being a little lazy

Because spending over 45 minutes on your hair every morning just isn’t your thing, doesn’t mean you have to suffer with bed-hair-syndrome for eternity! We all have a pal who wakes up every morning, washes their hair, and meticulously blow-dries it? That’s not you. That’s not most of us, in fact! As compiled from Good Housekeeping magazine, rock these effortless hair-dos, and remember, there’s no shame in being a little lazy.

Ditzy ponytail

For those who have resorted to a topknot one too many times but also hate to blow-dry their hair, followed by the straightening iron — this is going to be your new favourite style for spring. Named by celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin, the “off-duty” or “ditzy” ponytail is a high ponytail that’s teased so it looks fluffy, full, and feminine — and only takes a couple of minutes to accomplish. All you have to do is brush your hair and tie a high-ponytail, then use your fingers to loosen up the hair on the crown — that simple!

Delicate dye job

One of the biggest hair trends of the past year, it has made its way in 2016 too! This style is cherished for its laid-back appearance and low-maintenance nature. “Babylights are super soft highlights that delicately soften the roots of solid-coloured hair,” says hairstylist Devin Toth. Unlike chunky highlights, platinum bleach-and-tones, or solid dye jobs, babylights are perfect for ladies who want their hair to look great while only necessitating a visit to the stylist two or three times per year.

Twisted trick

If you’re like me and have Rapunzel-status hair, you may be accustomed to a typical ponytail, but there are so many other styles to try, like an amazing infinity bun. “To accomplish this, you only have to pull your hair tightly into a ponytail, then twist,” explains celebrity hairstylist Gabriel Samra. Grab a section of your ponytail and “begin twisting it clockwise. Then, wrap it around the elastic to form a loop shape and pin.” Once you’re done with that section, grab half of the hair that’s left and twist it in the opposite direction. Then pin it up on the other side of the elastic. Finally, grab the last bit of hair and drape it along that first section to really enhance the infinity symbol shape, and pin. Gently fan the style out a bit with your fingers, and spritz with some hair mousse to add texture.

Convenient lobs

Okay, so no surprise there! This celebrity beloved style shows no signs of discontinuing, and with good reason. “A happy medium between short and long, this shoulder-length sensation is making a statement,” remarks Samra, adding, “The beauty of the long bob is its versatility and ability to be worn a number of ways.” The best part about the lob — the length allows for every kind of style — be it curly for a shaadi you have to attend; straight, say, for work, and even beach waves. Gotta say, this hip hair trend is a winner.
