Judicial Appointment: Four LHC judges take oath of office

LAHORE:
Four judges of Lahore High Court took oath of office at a ceremony on Monday following their confirmation. Chief Justice Ijazul Ahsan administered oath to Justice Faisal Zaman, Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza, Justice Syed Shahbaz Rizvi and Justice Shahid Jameel Khan. Advocate General Shakilur Rehman and Prosecutor General Ihtesham Qadir were also present at the ceremony. The strength of the LHC has now increased to 53. James Joseph and Zafar Khan Khakwani, also appointed as additional judges alongside the four, were not recommended for confirmation by the judicial commission.
