The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Monday seized 1,800 litres of sub-standard milk.

According to a PFA statement, food safety officers set up pickets at several entrances to the city and inspected 98 milk-carrying vehicles. “Three of them were found to be carrying substandard milk. Samples were also sent for laboratory analysis,” the statement said. PFA monitoring teams also checked milk being sold at shops. PFA Samanabad Town officers sealed Bilal Milk Shop in Karim Block for selling sub-standard and unhealthy milk. Data Ganj Busksh Town team sealed Masha Allah Milk Shop, Modern Milk Shop, Ujala Milk Shop and Hafiz Waqas Milk Shop. A PFA Aziz Bhatti Town team sealed Madina Milk Shop and Data Ali Hajveri Milk Shop.

Operations Director Ayesha Mumtaz said the authority would continue its drive against the sale of adulterated and sub-standard milk. “No one will be allowed to endanger lives of citizens by selling unhygienic food products,” she said.
