ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan is progressing as per vision of Muhammad Ali Jinnah where every citizen has equal rights without any discrimination.

This was said by Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid while speaking at the inauguration of a four-day photo exhibition ‘Mosaic of Pakistan’ organised by Directorate of Electronic Media and Publications at Aiwan-i-Quaid at F-9 Park.

“The government and state treat every Pakistani equally without any discrimination of gender, faith, caste and creed,” he said.

Photographs of Pakistan Movement leaders and their struggle, beautiful landscapes and historical places have been put on display.

The minister said the exhibition would be a catalyst for younger generation and an opportunity to know about founders of the country.

“Photographs of Pakistan Movement leaders themselves speak about their sincerity and struggle for the cause of achieving the motherland,” he said.

He said the leaders wanted to see a united and progressive Pakistan where every citizen could get their fundamental rights equally.

Unfortunately some elements attempted to create negative image of the country by carrying out subversive activities, the minister said. However, armed forces effectively tackled the menace of terrorism by rendering great sacrifices to purge the country of anti-state elements, he said.

“Today the negative landscape has changed and there is a peaceful co-existence and unity in the country,” he added.

He said that international community was acknowledging Pakistan’s role and importance in world affairs and extending cooperation. Pakistan wanted better relations with all neighbouring countries for development and prosperity of the region, he said.

The minister said women were bringing laurels by excelling in different fields like sports, arts and science.

Rashid urged the public, political leaders and all institutions to renew their pledge to make Pakistan an exemplary Islamic welfare and democratic state.
