DUBAI: From Shraddha Kapoor to Parineeti Chopra, it seems that voicing their own songs is the latest trend amongst Bollywood actors. Concurring with this statement, Parineeti shared actors are singing for their films because they are eager to explore different aspects of their creative talents. After a year-long hiatus from the screen, Parineeti is not only back with brushed-up acting skills but by attempting to kick-start her singing career as well. The Ishaqzaade star is gearing up for her next venture Meri Pyaari Bindu, for which she will be crooning an untitled number.

Singing in a film for the first time, Parineeti mentioned the art runs in her family genes. She stated her cousin and fellow Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra — who has previously impressed the audience with her vocal prowess in songs such as Dil Dhadakne Do — was really excited upon hearing the news. “Actually everyone in my family was excited because everyone knows that we all sing. I think it’s in the Chopra blood to sing so they were very happy I was getting to do it on a professional level,” said Parineeti. Likewise, her parents heaped praises on her after she was offered the opportunity to sing professionally. When asked if she is keen on making singles in the near future, Parineeti said, “No, right now I am going to do some music in films and then I will see.”

The Kill Dil actor will be seen essaying an aspiring singer in the Maneesh Sharma production, whilst romancing actor Ayushmann Khurrana. Meri Pyaari Bindu will be directed by debutant Akshay Roy.
