FAISALABAD:

The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has submitted a list of illegal housing schemes located in their jurisdiction to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Lahore.

A spokesman of the FDA said on Sunday that there were 130 illegal housing colonies in the area under FDA’s jurisdiction. “Under the Private Housing Scheme and Land Subdivision Rules 2010, no residential colony or housing scheme can be developed without prior permission of the FDA. However, these schemes were developed without the authority’s permission,” he said.

He said that the authority had earlier sealed executive offices of these colonies. “We have also asked the general public not to purchase plots in these housing schemes. However, the owners and developers of these schemes did not contact the FDA so we’ve decided to send their cases to the NAB for action against them,” he said.
