Chinese university to train youth

The university will also provide technical assistance in the construction industry in the Punjab

Qingdao Hengxing University of Science and Technology, China, would provide master trainers to the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) to teach Chinese to the youth across the Punjab, TEVTA Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said on Friday.


He was speaking to a three-member university delegation consisting of its chairman Chen Changjin, Wang Zi Hai and Fa Liang Shan.

The university will also provide technical assistance in the construction industry in the Punjab.

Sheikh said the TEVTA had started a three-month Chinese language course for the general public and a four-month course for the business community. He said the authority would soon start a three-month course in Rawalpindi and Faisalabad.

“The course will help the youth secure jobs in Chinese companies,” he said.

Chen said China had emerged as a strong economy. The country’s role in the global economic growth was of great significant, Chen said.

“The economic cooperation between China and Pakistan will provide many opportunities to the people of Pakistan.” He praised the efforts of the TEVTA for the promotion of technical education and vocational training.

The delegation also visited a Chinese language class at the Government Technical Training Institute, Gulberg.
