LAHORE:

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Friday that the government was committed to protecting farmers’ interest.

He said an agricultural conference had been organised on Saturday (today) to discuss ways to solve the problems faced by the farmers.

At another meeting, Sharif directed officials concerned to take effective measures for meeting enrollment targets. He said a comprehensive programme should be evolved for training of school teachers.

DFID head Joanna Reid called on Sharif to discuss progress on various projects. Separately, a delegation of Italian investors led by Ambassador Stefano Pontecorvo called on the chief minister to discuss bilateral relations.
