Failed vote of confidence: ANP Peshawar district cabinet dissolved

The council meeting was attended by only 176 out of 386 councillors

PESHAWAR: After a failed vote of confidence from the general council, the Awami National Party Peshawar district cabinet will stand dissolved, stated a press release on Friday. The ANP Peshawar District General Council meeting was held in Peshawar late on Thursday evening. The party’s provincial president and former chief minister supervised the vote of confidence process. The party’s Peshawar president, Malik Nasim, was directed by the provincial cabinet to ask the general council for a vote of confidence. The council meeting was attended by only 176 out of 386 councillors, whereas the president would have required 194 votes. ANP K-P President Haider Khan Hoti said Malik Nasim and his cabinet failed to get the vote of confidence.
