Second day: Rain affects flights
The Metrological Department has forecasted more rain
RAWALPINDI:
Incessant rain affected international and domestic flights at Benazir Bhutto International Airport for another day.
Due to the rain, five flights were cancelled and six others delayed.
The delayed flights included PK-606 from Gilgit to Islamabad, PK-452 from Skardu to Islamabad, PK-451 from Islamabad to Skardu, PK-605 from Islamabad to Gilgit, and PK-608 from Gilgit to Islamabad.
A flight from Urumqi, China to Islamabad was delayed for three hours, a domestic flight from Karachi to Islamabad was delayed for four hours, a flight from Madina to Islamabad was delayed for four hours, a flight from Islamabad to Kabul was delayed for three hours and a domestic flight from Islamabad to Karachi was delayed for three days. Another flight from Kabul to Islamabad was also delayed.

Meanwhile, 25 mm rainfall was recorded on Thursday in Rawalpindi. WASA has set up four monitoring rooms at Liaqat Bagh, Moti Mahal, Gawalmandi and Khyaban-e-Sir Syed to monitor the situation.
Meanwhile, four persons including two women were injured in a gas cylinder blast at home in Pirwadhai.
Rescue 1122 personnel shifted the victims to the burnt unit of the Holy Family Hospital.
The identity of the victims had not been released when this report was filed.
