Woman, son arrested for attempting to smuggle heroin to Saudi Arabia
The two passengers were taken into custody from a Jeddah-bound plane with heroin capsules at Lahore airport

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Thursday arrested a woman and her son attempting to smuggle heroin to Saudi Arabia.
The personnel while acting on a tip-off checked passengers of the Jeddah-bound Shaheen Airline flight 717, and recovered “more than 70 heroin-filled capsules” from the possession of a woman and her son.
The ANF took Shamim Akhtar and her 23-year-old son Muhammad Arshad into custody, and initiated investigation to find if the two were working alone or with a group.
ANF arrest 10 drug smugglers
Last month, the ANF arrested 10 suspected drug peddlers and smugglers and recovered over 22kg of illicit drugs from them in separate operations in Rawalpindi region.
Similarly on January 7, the Federal Investigation Agency arrested a human smuggler trying to flee to Jeddah aboard a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Islamabad airport.
