NA speaker seeks action against rival
Observers PTI leader Aleem Khan attached false evidences

Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has approached the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to take action against Abdul Aleem Khan, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, who contested against him in a by-poll in October 2015.
The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) candidate Sadiq had retained his NA-122 Lahore seat by defeating Aleem Khan with a narrow margin. Aleem Khan had later accused the PML-N of systematic rigging.
In a petition filed before the ECP through his counsel Ayesha Hamid, Sadiq has quoted an order in which the commission had observed that Aleem Khan had attached false evidences and requested the ECP to invoke provisions of Contempt of Court Ordinance 2004 against him for misleading the commission.
“It has been observed by the commission with serious concern that some affidavits filed by the petitioner were absolutely false and hence the commission reserves its authority/right to proceed against them in accordance with law after final decision by the Tribunal concerned,” the ECP order had said as it dismissed Aleem Khan’s petition on February 1 this year.
