KARACHI:
A man was burnt by unidentified persons in Hyderabad and was brought to the burns ward of Civil Hospital, Karachi on Tuesday morning.
The victim, identified as Ghulam Ali, is a resident of Sehwan, district Dadu. According to doctors, he has suffered 100% burn injuries and there are low chances of his survival. "He is in a serious condition," confirmed Dr Ahmer, assistant professor of the ward. "There is a little hope of his survival," he added, saying the best treatment was being provided to the patient.

The victim's elder brother, Ahmed Ali, alleged that two persons, one identified as Pappu Bhatti, were behind the incident. "My brother has not attempted to commit suicide," he said rejecting rumours circulating in their hometown regarding the incident. Speaking to The Express Tribune, Ahmed said Ghulam, 19, runs a tea stall in their native town. He alleged the accused first telephoned his brother and then locked him in a room and burnt him.
He said his brother's clothes have not been burnt, which implies that Ghulam was burnt without clothes. "Our family or my brother was not in disagreement with any person in the area," he clarified.

The aged mother of the victim, Zainab, was in Hyderabad when the incident took place. "I don't know what has actually happened," she said. "I was just informed that my son has been burnt badly." On a complaint filed by the Ali family, Sehwan police has arrested Bhatti. The FIR is yet to be registered, however.
