‘Irregularities’: SBCA office raided

The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) raided the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) office at Civic Centre on Tuesday and took into custody records from Liaqutabad town area. According to the ACE spokesperson, the action was taken following complaints of irregularities and construction of multi-storey buildings in residential areas.



"The [SBCA] officials have violated rules. We are now reviewing the case and will later take action against officers found responsible," he said.

In a separate incident, ACE officials arrested a senior clerk of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur Mirs. He had allegedly taken a bribe of Rs40,000 on the pretext of providing a job at the varsity.

Meanwhile, ACE officials also arrested two cops, identified as Safaraz Qureshi of SITE police and Ayaz Soho of Qaimababad police, from Hyderabad on charges of selling case property and 10,000 litres of official fuel. In another case, a sub-registrar of Jamshed Town was arrested while taking Rs150,000 as a bribe.
