The federal government is functioning in close coordination with provincial governments for improving labour laws
ISLAMABAD:
The federal government is functioning in close coordination with provincial governments for improving labour laws to help empower labour institutions to alleviate poverty, said Overseas Pakistani Foundation Managing Director Habibur Rahman. Talking to APP, he said under the Rules of Business 1973, the government had mandate to seek employment opportunities for Pakistanis abroad, work for their welfare as well as their families and coordinate with provincial governments to align national labour laws with the country’s international obligations on labour standards. “The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis is mandated to perform the functions broadly related to policy formulation, labour administration, manpower planning and employment promotion,” he said.
