Unpaid Salaries: Teachers’ protest, hunger strike continues

The teachers appealed to the chief minister and other officials to take notice

KHAIRPUR: Around 314 male and female teachers of various cadres continued their protest and hunger strike on Monday against the non-payment of their salaries for the past 39 months. The teachers participating in the hunger strike, Shoukat Ali Mangi, Mudasar Kalhoro, Barkat Ali Channa, Javed Bhayo, Abdul Latif Phulpoto, Abdul Rauf, Mir Khan, Zaheer Memon, Rizwan Ali Ansari, Jamil Kandhro and others, told the media that their families were suffering hardships due to the non-payment of salaries. They said that Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah had assured them and directed the education department officials in this regard but nothing had been implemented. The teachers appealed to the chief minister and other officials to take notice of the issue and release their salaries as early as possible.
