Upon FIA plea, Kamal promises to assist probe

KARACHI:
A top official of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Sindh has secured a pledge from Mustafa Kamal to assist money laundering investigations and RAW related allegations against Muttahida Qaumi Movement.
FIA Sindh Director Shahid Hayat on Sunday came over to Kamal’s residence in Karachi and met the former nazim and Anis Qaimkhani. During the informal meeting that lasted for about half an hour, Hayat asked them to cooperate in probing into allegations against MQM.

“Shahid Hayat has sought cooperation to probe money laundering and RAW related allegations and I assured him of full cooperation,” Kamal later told journalists. He said he was also planning to hold a big rally in Karachi in the second week of April. Kamal said after Karachi rally, he would also visit Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Though Shahid Hayat was not available for comments despite several attempts, sources in the FIA said Kamal is likely to record his statement before the agency in the next 48 hours.
