Petitioner Khurram Gulzar said that he had purchased several plots in DHA Gujranwala from Asif Bashir Farooqi
LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge issued a show-cause notice to the Civil Lines SHO on a petition, seeking the registration of a case against a man for issuing him a Rs24 million cheque, which was returned.
Petitioner Khurram Gulzar said that he had purchased several plots in DHA Gujranwala from Asif Bashir Farooqi. “I paid Rs1.6 million each for 30 files. Later, upon verification by DHA Gujranwala, several of them turned out to be forgeries. When I confronted Farooqi, he gave me a cheque for Rs24 million. However, the cheque bounced,” he said. Gulzar said that he had requested the SHO to take action against the man. However, the SHO had not registered his complaint, he said.
