Chief minister reviews progress on development projects

Chief Minister Shahbaz Shairf said on Friday providing selfless service to the public was the government’s mission.


The chief minister chaired a meeting to review progress on various public projects across the province.

“Work is under way on public-welfare projects across the province. Transparency, good quality and speed are the hallmark of the development schemes,” Sharif said. He claimed that both local and international institutions had acknowledged the government’s policy of transparency.

The chief minister said the government was committed to sustained development of both rural and urban areas. He said the Pakkiyan Sarkan Saukhay Painday project aimed at the repair and rehabilitation of rural roads. The scheme, he said, would greatly benefit rural economy.

“The programme will prove a game-changer,” he vowed.

The chief minister said work was under way on schemes aimed at improving health and education facilities across the province. Billions of rupees was being spent on providing safe drinking water to people, he said.


Sharif said resources were available for these projects.

National Assembly Members Pervaiz Malik and Hamza Shahbaz, Parliamentary Secretary on Health Khwaja Imran Nazir and the Lahore Division commissioner attended the meeting.

Health

Minister of State for Health Saira Afzal Tarar, too, called on the chief minister on Friday.

Sharif told her that provision of modern health facilities to people was a government priority. “Providing quality medical facilities to people is imperative for a healthy society,” he said.

He said that patients were benefitting from the availability of free medicines at hospital.

The chief minister apprised the minister of reforms the government introduced to improve public health facilities.

Tarar praised the chief minister for his efforts to improve healthcare facilities across the Punjab.
