FAISALABAD:


Two security guards and a driver were shot and killed by unidentified robbers during a heist in a Samundri police precinct on Thursday. Police said the robbers had taken away Rs2.1 million from a bank’s van.  The van was on its way from Samundri to Garh Mahraja when two men on motorcycles stopped the van at Gujrat Mor. Police said they were carrying sophisticated weapons and shot at the van so the driver had to stop. Two security guards and the van driver – Muhammad Aslam, a resident of Chak 468-GB, Kalbe Hussain, a resident of Chak 474-GB, and Sharif, a resident of Chak 450-GB – received serious injuries and died on the spot.



The robbers broke into the van’s vault and took away Rs2.1 million and fled.


People in the area said the robbers had unloaded sacks of cash from the van. They had then loaded them into a white car parked at Gujrat Mor and drove off on their motorcycles. Cops took the bodies into custody and cordoned off the crime scene. They also set up pickets a. However, police said, they had been unable to track down the culprits so far.
