Bridging the gap
Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon plays peacemaker between mother and brother
LONDON:
Madonna’s 19-year-old daughter Lourdes Leon seems to have stepped in to mend the rift between her mother and brother Rocco. The singer is currently involved in a custody battle with estranged husband Guy Ritchie for Rocco and became emotional about missing him at a concert recently.
But now, Lourdes is keeping her informed. “She is very concerned about her mother. Madonna has no official access or way of knowing what’s going on in Rocco’s life,” femalefirst.co.uk quoted a source as saying. “She also can’t get direct contact with Guy as he wants to conduct all their business through lawyers. Madonna is so proud of Lourdes and believes she is proof of what a brilliant mum Madonna was because now, Lourdes is at university.”
Madonna defends diva behaviour
Rocco left the hit maker’s Rebel Heart tour last year to live with his father, stepmother Jacqui Ainsley and three half-siblings. Later, he defied a court order to return to the US to spend Christmas with his mother. Last week, a judge ruled the teenager should stay with Guy for the time being, in order to prevent his schooling from being disrupted. The former couple has also been advised to make an amicable agreement over custody of the youngster.
It was claimed that Madonna – who also has two adopted kids, Mercy and David – is resigned to Rocco living with his father permanently but has insisted on imposing a number of conditions for rules, structure and security, if that is to be the case.
