Patron’s Trophy: Hassan’s six-for guides KE to emphatic win

Defeat Customs by 189 runs on last day of round two.

K-Electric’s Hassan Khan wreaked havoc as he claimed six Customs wickets to guide his side to a 189-run win in the Patron’s Trophy at the UBL Ground in Karachi on Wednesday.

KE, who started the day on 103-2 in their second innings, made 233 to set Customs a target of 346. Customs were dismissed on 156 thanks to Hassan’s six-wicket haul.

In the match between Brighto Paints and Nadra at the Lahore Country Club, Nadra managed to avoid an innings defeat but could only set Brighto Paints a target of 19 runs, which they reached comfortably. Brighto Paints’ Waqas Ahmed and Faisal Rasheed both claimed three wickets apiece, while Naseerullah (53) and Aamir Jamal (42 not out) were the top-scorers for Nadra.



At the Jinnah Stadium in Sialkot, ZTBL defeated Service Industries by eight wickets as the former comfortably reached their 213-run target in 36.1 overs. ZTBL opener Gohar Ali made an unbeaten 122 off 117 balls to gudie them home.


The match between HEC and Khayabane Amin ended in a draw as HEC failed to dismiss their opponents after setting a 398-run target. Ahsan Tariq, Ali Tipu Sultan and Haider Ali claimed a wicket apiece for HEC, while Yasir Ajmal (49) was the top-scorer for Khayabane Amin.

Navy and PTV also played out a draw as both teams failed to reach a result at the end of the three days. PTV were 456-9, leading by 392 runs at the RLCA Ground in Karachi. Moazzam Malik took five wickets, while Zeeshan Malik (150) was the top-scorer in the second innings for PTV.

Another match, between Asim Textiles and Pak Saudi, ended in a draw as Pak Saudi were still in their second innings, leading by 245 runs. Wahid Ijaz made 52 to become Pak Saudi’s top-scorer in the second innings, while Mohammad Waseem, Shahid Ali and Aitizaz Ahsan Khokhar claimed two wickets apiece.
