Teachers’ strike: Model college staff announces strike
The strike will affect around 40,000 students, as annual exams for elementary and middle schools
Teachers at a number of model colleges will go on strike from March 10 to push authorities to approve their demands, the Central Academic Staff Association announced via a press release after a meeting on Tuesday. The association of Islamabad Model Colleges previously submitted a charter of demands to city officials, including the minister and secretary of the CADD. It had made demands such as addressing the shortage of teachers, establishment of new model colleges, and regular promotions. CADD has not responded or contacted the association since the submission of the charter. The strike will affect around 40,000 students, as annual exams for elementary and middle schools are being held at IMCs.
