‘Preserve ecosystem of Margallas’

During the campaign special focus would be on cleaning different trails in the Margallas

ISLAMABAD:


A cleanliness drive, involving students and civil society members, has been launched by the CDA in the Margalla Hills National Park.


The drive has been launched on the special directions of Chairman CDA Maroof Afzal. Addressing the volunteers, he said that the hills were an asset of the city and every effort would be made to protect and preserve the uniqueness they bring to the capital.


The purpose of the campaign is to create awareness about the importance of the natural environment among the people visiting national park and to seek their support in efforts to protect its rich bio-diversity, plants and animals.

During the campaign special focus would be on cleaning different trails in the Margallas.

On the first day of the campaign, volunteers, including students and environmentalists, were given bags and gloves before the cleanliness activity at Trail – 5 of the Hills.
